You won't miss the money.

In your near future, after you have purchased that faux wood furniture at such a great price that it felt like a steal, you will unfortunately be stuck with a big, clunky piece of fake wood that has to go in the trash. Rinse and repeat. Maybe you have noticed this pattern and thought, "I wish I didn't have to do this."

There is a solution:

Pay for quality furniture upfront. The extra money it costs, you won't miss it in six months, you won't miss it in a year, you won't miss it in 5 years. Only then you will have a piece of furniture that will last a lifetime, and when you look at it in your home, it won't feel good in just a superficial way; it will feel genuinely good in a way that few things do - special, true, and forever valuable.

Be wary of advertising with phrases "made with real wood" - you can liken that to food labeled "made with real" - it is likely there is just a very small portion of the product made with actual real hardwoods or softwoods and the majority of it is synthetic woods.

Perhaps you are familiar with the acronym CPU. Not the Central Processing Unit found in computers but Cost Per Usage. In the case of goods like furniture, the unit price (the piece of furniture) divided by the number of times its used is the CPU. This number should be the determining factor when buying a piece of furniture rather than the sale price. CPU for furniture made from quality hardwoods blows that of furniture sold by retail shops out of the water. That is simply bc furniture well crafted from hardwoods or softwoods rather than synthetic materials can last upwards of 10x as long. Durability is simply unmatched. Along with the durability comes originality, your piece is yours and yours only.
